To know about the evolution of the police force in Puducherry from French rule to till date, you can visit the Puducherry police museum. This place is located near the promenade beach, right next to the Puducherry police headquarters. A single room with the collection of weapons, attire, and accessories used by the police department. This museum is under the control of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Puducherry Police. The person in charge of this museum is the superintendent of police, CID. The arms and ammunition are maintained by the CMT/PAP and supervised by the inspector of police from the stores department. The visitor’s book is maintained by the sentry to know about the views of the museum from civilians. It is a one-time-watchable place for the tourists of Puducherry.
